Herculete

Aerated concrete, or as it is more commonly known "cellular concrete", dates back to 1923 with its origins in Stockholm, Sweden. Cellular concrete has undergone many improvements over the years and one of its benefits is its light weight. Previously the universal potential of lightweight concrete was impeded by the significant capital cost of the manufacturing system that employed an autoclave (steam pressure) process.

Herculete was developed to expand on the cellular concept by eliminating the need for the costly autoclave process thus making it universally accessible. Numerous advancements have been integrated into Herculete, most significantly the introduction of inert synthetic fibers. These highly concentrated fibers provide micro reinforcement to the Herculete slurry which expands to create Herculete’s unique closed cell structure. This exclusive combination provides a tough, resilient, lightweight construction material which is easily handled, cut, shaped or molded to virtually any profile at a very low cost.

Herculete can be saw cut, drilled, screwed and nailed, similar to wood. It will maintain its high strength, excellent durability, thermal insulation, sound insulation and fire resistance. Used alone, or in combination with other materials such as light gauge steel stud framing, the time saving and cost advantage of using Herculete technology is very significant.
